remain in light - talking heads

remain in light is the fourth studio album by american new wave band talking heads, released in 1980.

it's hard having to talk about an album so acclaimed, specially when that acclaim is deserved; remain in light is undoubtedly one of the greatest albums i've heard, an absolute marvel of sound that lasts only 40 minutes, even though i'd be willing to listen to it for an entire day without getting bored.

i do not know why i took so long until i heard this album, maybe i worried that it would be too experimental for my taste but thankfully it wasn't.

the record goes through several different sounds (one of the most well known influences being african music), but it's still a very cohesive listen, nothing sounds out of place. the instrumentation is also accompanied by the great singing voice of david byrne and also by amazing lyrics.

remain in light is a masterpiece, one of the first albums in a long while where i had a real issue trying to figure out which songs were the least good, i don't think i've been able to figure it out yet, and i don't think i'll be able to do it anytime soon. if you have missed out on the record like i've been doing until now, please go listen to it. 10/10. standouts; born under punches, once in a lifetime (duh), listening wind
